Could this be a consolidation of both boards?

Just had an idea. Now I was never around when TB.com basically split and someone created a new TBs.com board. I joined both boards in June of 2001. Seems to me like this board is a cross between both boards. You think that this new board will re-unite the entire TB community into one? I think it may. It has the techinical-minded people and information like TB.com does but has the freedom and lack of rules like TBs.com. I dunno just my thought. I love this board! :frech:

hate to say it, but the other boards put me to sleep. turbobuick was for old people and turbobuicks was too small. besides, i would hafto go to ls1.com for posted porn pics!

I think tbs.com turned into a whine site for tb.com members to leak and cry because they where not allowed to on tb.com. I found tbs.com had very little Tech data, just junk. I think if Jay gets some good moderators, this site will be like tb.com but a little more relaxed and not so stuffy where you feel if you type the wrong thing, you are going to be booted or your thread locked. The key when the leaking starts over here, it needs to be radiated like cancer so it does not spread. IMO :arco:

Christ I hope not. Here we have been given a clean sheet on a new board that we can have some fun on AND hopefully enjoy our hobby of Turbo Buicks. It would be a shame to have this turn into another bitchfest - John and Jay may end up deciding it ain't worth it. Can we come up with some way as a community to police ourselves? Maybe those displaying a bit too much of the "x chromosome" have to turn over their Buicks' keys and buy a new Honda or something? :add_wegbr

Thats what started so many problems on the other board with the change of ownership. If people want to be policed and agree to thought control, let them stay where there at. :anbet:

I commend Mike for leaving his board open. Bruce I think would be best served to run his board how he feels is best and not care what is said on Mikes site.
I think for a while this site will be neutral and I hope it makes its own way. It certainly has a great start

I'm not sure if this will help to bring boards/communities together....I've seen alot of comparisons made and differences noted, but usually they've been epilogued with something to the effect of '...so that other board sucks'. I think any comparisons are apples to oranges and are therefor pointless. I have my favorite as most do, but remain aware of what each site is best suited for. :add_shit:

I was on turbobuick.com for a long time, then I made a name on TBS.com. I'd say TB.com comes off as more "professional" than TBS.com. TBS.com has a lot of junk. Hopefully it doesn't turn into one of those car forums with just a bunch of flame threads and ignorant kids.

This board is a breath of fresh air. It won't bring the 2 sides back together, but if the other boards aren't carefull, they may be on the outside looking in. The petty shit that's been going on lately is a distraction and alot of people, like me, are sick of it being aired out in public. The whole community is brought down and suffers. Like the old adage ' Misery loves company'. Well, I'm glad this board came along when it did.
