Maybe.
If the PCV isn't working 100% correctly then it will help.
The thing with PCVs is that they are so cheaply made.
I use both.
As a matter of fact I use a PCV from some plymouth application where the part that screws into the manifold is 1/8" pipe. I welded up the stock gommet thing, and then drilled and tapped for the new PCV underneath the coil pack. So now I don't have that gommet seeping oil.

the checkvalves **can** cause really odd idle BLM issues. I fought with mine for 6 months, and am now running just a delco PCV. Once I removed the checkvalve, normal operation returned.
The issue is that the checkvalve hangs up somewhat and reduces the vaccuum signal that the PCV sees. The PCV 'yawns' and airflow goes up. It happens intermittantly and idle quality becomes very inconsistent.
On my other car I never had the problem, so it may just be some of the valves....

.
I forgot to mention it HAS to be a 0 cracking checkvalve. If it takes any measureable amount of vac to open it, it will mess up one's idle. Aquaium valves, etc., won't work right.
I used to sell a valve that worked really well for the PCV. Ive had some people ask me about them recently. Maybe I need to see if I can source them out again. Bruce is correct tho, they have to be a 0 cracking valve to not cause any wierdness. The ones I was selling I had to modify before sending them out.

The Incon turbo kit for the LS1 had a really cool checkvalve, nobody seems to know where it came from though.
If you dig up the info, Jay, send me one.....
Thanks!
