I am using T6 tuner to burn chips and would like to know what tables I change to lock my convertor at 85-90 mph. Also besides T6 tuner how do you guys read chips. With T6 tuner you can't do stuff like BLM patches. It's a great program but limited I want to do more , What do I need to buy?
Thanks Chris
I dont know that you can do forced lockup through T6 Tuner, which I assume is what you're trying to do. I should download the demo and see what tables it supports.
As far as patches, you can use any hex editor to apply those. You will need to recalculate the checksum which you MAY be able to do by just loading the file back into T6 Tuner and saving it back out.

Thanks for the quick response Jay. Yes, I want to force lock-up at a certain mph in my race chip. The T6 program has an ECM constant table that has TCC lock and unlock speed for 3rd and 4th gear. Then it has seperate tables called TCC load limit vs. mph. I know there is probably no quick answer, but when you read a chip with a hex editor how do you know what your looking at? Is there something that tells you what everything means.

Chris,
Were you able to find what you needed? T6 Tuner doesn't have access to "unlock prevent rpm threshold", so you need to adjust it manually in hex.

Thanks Eric, I am just going to hook a switch up for now until I learn what the hell I'm looking at with the hex editor. I downloaded a hex editor and Dave's spread sheet, but I don't know how to match up what I'm looking at.
How do you know what tables are what?
Chris
Look in the spreadsheet at location 38C (its actually $338C when in the car).
The TCC unlock prevention RPM value in Hex is FF normally which is 255 decimal and RPM = 255*25=6375.
If you want it to be 3000 RPM for example, that would be 120 dec, 78 Hex.
The spreadsheet formula is built right in 95% of the data table cells.
You should consider using Tuner Pro you build your own ECU file based on whatever parameters you like. Don't have a table, define your own. It also has a built in Hex editor.
