The best I can find, is that this is the schedule for the TSM events for 08:
May 13th-17th GS Nats at BG
June 1st - Buick Raceday @ Norwalk, OH
August 1st-3rd - BPG Buick Horsepower @ National Raceway Hebron, OH
August 22nd-24th - Midwest Challange @ Osceola, IN
Oct 31st - Nov 1st - SE Musclecar Challange @ Silver Dollar Reynolds, GA
Is this accurate? or missing an event? Inquiring minds would like to know-
Seems like there should be an event in july?
Thanks-
Cliff

Looks right to me. We have most of June and all of July off this year.

Hey Kevin, you wouldn't happen to know if this part of the old rules on points still applies would you?
"The winner is the person who accumulates the most points from three of the events. Points are awarded to the driver, not the car. Accordingly, racers do not have to race the same car at each event, but it does have to be the same driver."
Thank you,
Cliff

In addition, the Rules for the TSM Point Series have been changed to reflect the rule changes voted "in" by the registrered TSM Point Seiries racers. I also clarified some language to thwart potential conflicts in a few grey areas.

Yah,
like
GM casted iron heads and 3,550 with Aftermarket or alum. heads.
This sounds like a rule change to me that should have been voted on !!!

That's what the rule has always been. 3400 for stock heads and 3550 for aftermarket heads. I think Scott may have cleared up the wording but there was no change in the rule. :nixweiss:

It was any "buick iron head" and also went on to say no stage II heads allowed.
So now my point is the shifter deal was unclear and then voted on and the front control arms were unclear and voted on so why not WHAT style iron heads ?

There was nothing unclear about the shifter. They were allowed clearly by the rules and they got voted out.
There was nothing unclear about the front arms. They were clearly not allowed and now they got voted in.
The head rules don't seem to rule out any Buick heads except Stage II. Seems to me the only possible thing that the re-wording of the rule would exclude would be someone casting aftermarket heads that flowed like the Alum. heads but were made of iron to try and get around the 150 lb weight penalty. That would clearly be contrary to the intent of the original rule. I mean no one thinks the 150 lb rule was put into place as a penalty for using alum. that would otherwise go to make foil or something do they? It was obvisouly put into place to even the difference between the limitations of stock style heads and the higher flowing aftermarket heads.
• Buick V6 iron or aluminum cylinder heads.
• Aftermarket or Aluminum cylinder heads allowed with 150 pound added weight penalty.
• No Stage 2 heads.
I don't see how there is a comparison to the other rule changes but that is just my opinion.
You coming to BG Don??

For the vast majority of parts run on a TSx class at Bowling Green (and now other Buicks events that host TSx races) the part has to be Factory Stock Appearing unless specifically excepted (allowed) in the class Rules. When we first started TSM people wanted the Champion aluminum heads allowed for the various reasons as to why these were better cylinder heads. They were not FSA items so it was written into the rules that these aftermarket heads would be allowed.
TSM is a weight-limited class, so the fact that the aluminum heads physically weigh less than the Buick heads is irrelevant. The flow characteristics and superior rocker arm configurations are what made the aftermarket heads the preferred cylinder head, but in order to not drive people away the stock iron heads a weight penalty was applied to the non-FSA heads.
Presently, aftermarket cylinder heads are only commercially available in aluminum so this is a non-issue for the current year. We can certainly vote on the matter for 2009 when the time is appropriate if someone wants to address a potential change.
