Hey guy's how good is a t64e Turbo, What size injector, What kind of chip?
Thanks :zahn: :zahn: :zahn: :anbet: :anbet:
My friend has a 4 year old PTE TE-64E turbo with stock style WG on a 96K+ mile stock unopened engine with $40 valvesprings, 50lb MSD's, custom 21* chip, PTE FMIC, 3" THDP, 9/11 convertor, 70mm TB running 11.50's@121.5mph. His car is 3850lbs and he runs 29psi with 100 octane unleaded and few gallons of 116 to be safe.
It is a little laggy (vs. a TE-44).... but it more than makes up for it on the freighttrain-like pull it delivers.
I think you should look at some of the newer turbo offereings for the same $$$.
How fast do you want to go?

I would like to go into the 10's :racer:
The engine has been gone thru. Ported stock heads, 208/208 cam, 62mm Jay Jackson TB, Champion stock ported lower intake, FMIC, LT1 Valve Springs, 340 Walboro FP, and a ton of bolt on junk. :applaus:

hi. i im getting all my setup done for the tens also. im not that hip on what it takes but there are some nice people on this board. they will go way way out of their way to help. so ask people who have been doing it for awhile. one thing i can say is make sure you have enough fuel pump.or better yet fuel PUMPS!!!! good luck. mcponch56.

I am picking up a GT67 or TE-45a turbo and expecting to go tens =D. 72# injectors + double pumper, currently have a 3200 stall but going to move up to a 3400 stall. Woo. (Oh, and I have all the supporting hardware to get into the tens...any day now!)

I have heard good stuff about the GT67.
It will work great on twins also.

I'll see you on Hall St. Let me know if you need any help tuning that beast. The last time we raced it sounded like you had a Woodpecker under your hood. The setup is everything!!!!!! :zahn:

All depends on your goals and what the rest of you mods look like
t64e and a te64 are different turbos...I've got a t63e w/a 3200 stall and love it. Long as you have enough stall, fuel and a well tuned car witha good chip you'll be fine.

Haha, yes... =(. I had my car tuned like crap. I didn't know how much boost I was running ( I set it WAY too high )... Anyways, I bumped up my fuel pressure, got a new chip, spark plug, wires, etc. Car is running really good now and builds boost like crazy! Can't imagine what the GT67/TE45a is going to be like =).

My PT51 spools like a mad man. It should do fine.

I actually think I am going to go with a TE or TA 62 turbo instead of the 45 for streetability.

Had a shift kit in it.
Ran so well. it was scary compaired to a 49.
I don't know if a 45 is beter. I would call and ask.

10s takes some serious HP.
A 45 or 67, with 72s.
And your going to give up some drivibility for getting in the 10s, IMO. And a double pumper wouldn't hurt.
It pays to be at slightly overkill for running 10s.
