Scan master???

I started my car yesterday for first time in 2 weeks. The scan master started flashing 535-31.5 and going back to normal and then it would flash the numbers again. I let it run for bout a 1 min so I could check under the hood, It did this until I turn the car off and disconnected the battery. After unhooking the battery the scan master was normal. I took it out for a drive not far, and it ran great. Any ideas??????????
