I have a Powermaster with 40,000 miles on it and it has been showing me the red brake light in the dash every time i tuch it for the last 10,000 miles. Recently when I press the brake petal there is a split sec stall before the actuall brakes engage. Its kinda scary and if i slam on the breaks it actually makes the rear slide out from me because the breaks stall and then grab suddenly. What could this be Accumulator ball, PM motor, ??? any info is appreciated!
Thanks for all the help, Joe.

if there is no leaks then i would suspect the accumulator ball.

I am also having a problem with my brakes that when I first press the pedal the brakes engage, but then the pedal sinks to the floor, and the brake light on the dash comes on. I have not been losing any fluid. could this also be the accumulator ball?

welp its time for a vaccum brake conversion. the acc. ball is becoming more and more scarce. the PM motor is expensive. just end it, go to the JY and get a brake pedel from a G body with Vac. brakes and go and get a master cly from a G body and be done with it.. (its not as easy as I say and there is a write up on GNTtype.org). its well worth it.

Just get some scrawny dude like Reaper to install the brake pedal and the rest is easy.

being scrawny probably won't help much

I think it has something to do with not being riddled with arthritis!

It has a whole lot to do with being patient. Thats where it went wrong for me. Turned into a 3 month project with all the delays.

Only because every time I would get ready to finish, I would talk myself out of it. It's probably only a 2 hour job for someone more motivated than myself.

I have a problem with my power master brakes too, the pedal is like pushing on a rock, it doesn't move at all, the brakes don't work and no lights come on. Any ideas ??
