Hi, new member here.

I found this car with my brother, in this exact location just like it sits in the pictures. If my brother wasn't with me, I probably would have kept on going without stopping. But now it's mine. It all happened by accident when my brother and I went mountain biking for the day.
We inquired about it, and the woman got back to us 2 weeks later telling us to come and pick it up. Her brother was suppose to take it 4 years earlier, but left it there instead.
It's an '83 Regal TR with 27,000 original miles. It was parked for 15 long years in the hot sun all because of a leaking oil line to the turbo.
There is VERY minimal rust and no rot. Everything is mostly seized with age.

How much would YOU have paid for this car?

I love it, but I'm finding there are few parts available for 1983 cars. I 've promised the previous owner (who didn't really want to see the car go), I'd bring it back for her to drive upon completion. Any and all help anyone can supply is GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks guys!

Thanks, believe it or not, the body mounts are all still solid, there is VERY minimal rust on this car. The tow truck driver who pulled it from this spot and delivered it to my house was just as excited as I was. He offered me $1,200 for the car and I told him "no".

What would YOU have paid to obtain this car in the shape pictured above?

I have no clue, I'd prollly would have insulted her with a 500 dollar offer.

I personally would have kept going, but it was my brother who wanted to get the car for me. So I stopped.
He asked me about an offer and I too said no more than $500.

In the end she gave it to us for FREE! "Just come and get it" was what she said.

So once restored, we'll bring her car back to her and let her drive it again for the first time in 15+ years. Right now we've torn it down, and have picture documentation for her to follow the restoration process. She didn't want to see the engine and transmission parted out from the car, so we've kept that in mind.
Mechanically, this car would be ALL original if we restored it back to spec, but I've been told these cars aren't that great due to the engine design, and wouldn't truly START being great until the NEXT year, 1984. From then on, the engines became easier to work on and more performance efficient. So I'm thinking of going with the original look with an '87 GN drivetrain. (assuming I can find one.)
The interior I'd like to give the white with black leather, lear-Siegler seats. I'm currently searching for minor exterior parts (i.e.-tail lights/ headlight bezels and center caps).
Then it will be on to the interior, as this might be the hardest to find.

I'm a Chef by trade, with a love for rare Buicks. My brother is an autotechnician for Chrysler/Dodge with a love for high performance cars. Together we do our best to live life and play at the same time. It gets rough at times, but hopefully, we can pull this job off.

Thanks for the compliment, if you know ANYONE with available parts, PLEASE keep me informed. Any and ALL help is GREATLY appreciated!
