Due to the dry climate the southwest is probably the best area for a car's longevity. I was wondering though, those of you who aren't the first owner, where did you get your car from?

My first GN I bought from a guy up the street when I lived in Colorado, it had spent it's whole life there.

Now I live in New Mexico and bought another GN on Ebay and went next door into Texas to get it. It had spent it's whole life in that sleepy little corner of Texas.

Mine came from arizona, 1 owner car, got it in 95 with 50k on it

Originally it was picked up in NC, since it has the Rear defroster on it, then shipped to arizona with the original owner who was in the service.

Well, blew up my El Camino engine. So I was looking for 2 TPI Camaros, one to drive and one to pillage for a motor when I came across a GN in the Auto Trader. I almost bought a 71 Charger with a 440 though. But I realized I would never see the GN again so I bought it. She was a San Diego car her whole life, the underbody wasn't even dirty (still isn't). But lately I've noticed the door corners are getting a little rust.

Yesterday I wanted to puke the whole day in school, damn hangover. I couldn't even take the morning after beer shit because I was scared of wrecking the entire bathroom beyond belief.

It's almost depressing to read about how ANYBODY could let these cars go or garage rot...........Oh well, good for us!

I got mine off the son-in-law of a man who passed away. It sat for about 10 years when I got it.

It came from Fikes Chevrolet Buick in Hamilton, AL. They got it in a dealer trade from Hix Green Buick near Atlanta. The Grand Nats were the rage as were T-tops. So she had sat there for 2 months without interest.

Been in my possession ever since.

My '87 GN was originally sold in New York. I purchased it about 3 1/2 years ago from the original owner a few months after he moved to Escondido, Calif. I bought the car with a little under 17k miles on it. At the time, I didn't know it had been a "Northern" car. The overall condition was/is consistant with the mileage *except* for all the surface rust. No body cancer though and I'm working on cleaning up the surface rust one step at a time. Now it spends most of it's time in a dry, comfy garage here in Dallas, Texas. If only I could keep my wife from hitting it with her car door! :nunu:

My '87 Turbo Regal came from the original owner in Antioch, Ca. I purchased it on 16th Aug., 2003. It had 8,400 & change miles on it. It had been purchased by the original owner in the town virtually right next to him. It has been garaged & covered it's whole life. It was preserved so well in a warm climate garage that the last three digits of the line assy no. are still visible on the tires in yellow marker from 17 years ago when they assembled it. On all 4 tires, I might add. This is my 5th Turbo Regal. It currently has about 11.7K miles on it.
