OK, just wanted to throw another loop into the whole "what is my build number" deal.
For anyone that has the stock intercooler, take a look at the data tag on top and see what the serial number is. My car is supposed to be #332 and the intercooler is #318. Close but not the same. Makes you wonder :yessir:
Mine says 347 and my build is 1387. Somebody must have been :joint:

I don't have mine, but was it supposed to match? If it really was, that's pretty poor workmanship IMHO from PAS. Heck, they only made 1,500+ so they can't claim they made a ton of them. It would be like putting the wrong number plate on a GNX. It's that attention to detail that makes the difference. Granted, they may have done a great job on the mechanical aspect of the conversion, but the little things count.
In reality, it doesn't matter. These weren't considered numbered cars. So they just took the next available one.
Now if I had a plaque on my dash/console that had my number, I would hope that the individual parts would match.

The only reason I brought it up, is because the intercooler is the only serialized part I have found that is TTA specific. Therefore you could say that it SHOULD be the build number also.

I don''t recall if there is a SN on the ID label but after doing lots of Duttweiler neck mods, I can say that they do have a SN etched w/a vibra-peen on top of the IC next to where the inlet neck is. Most are difficult to see b/c of the paint but all of them I've done had them.

All, I'm looking to get the IC decal reproduced but need the information verified printed on the decal. What I have is the following:
GARRET P/N 492000-4
SERIAL NO SC- 0337-V
CUST P/N 20TA-10050
GARRETT MADE IN U.S.A.
The interesting bit is of course the serial number, is yours SC-XXXX-V meaning just the XXXX part is different for each car?
Stevemon, you say the serial number is also etched to the IC it self? Can it be seen thrue the paint or would I have to strip the paint off my IC? I need this of course to get the right SN on my decal as I'm missing mine and currently try to restore my TTA.
Anyhelp to verify the above would be really appreciated.
Best Regards
Jan

Some of those I could see w/o removing the paint and some not. Depended on the vibrapeen operator I guess. (pneumatic etchers are adjustable and the depth of the etching is greater with more psi to the tool.)
Look closely on top of the tank at the inlet side right up against the weld. The number runs from front to rear. No tag on my IC anymore so can't help there.
