I had my 83 swaped out with a 87 BRF trans, when the guy did the swap he said that the pins or conector for TCC and pressure switchs were different between those years. Is this true??? My 86 trans is slipping 2-3 shifts, I would like to just swap trans and rebuild the 86 and take my time.

TIA

The connector is only to control TCC. 3rd and 4th switches provide gear input so the ECM can apply TCC. You could run the trans without even plugging in that plug. Youd just have no TCC. A good cooler would be nice to have as lack of TCC wil cause trans temps to rise a bit.

But the question is: Is the connector different from 83 to 86????
I still have the old trans out of the 83, guess I'll pull the trans that's in the 83 now and compare.
