i have sitting in a box a set of used SOUTH SIDE upper rear control arms that i plan to be putting in my 87 regal this friday or saturday-

since ive never personally seen these in a car, i dont know if there is a left or a right to them???

i have a picture of them, but i have trouble getting the sizes down to 100x100 and cant figure out how to post the picture. everytime i use my paint program to get the size down, i only get the upper left hand size of the picture and not the entire picture?

anyway, there are 2 dots welded on the top of these upper control arms, on one arm they are close to each other, on the other arm they are far apart.... IS THERE A LEFT AND RIGHT to these?

if anyone wants to help me put the picture on here i would appreciate it
THANKS

The GN I bought a couple of years ago came with Southsides on it. From looking at the installation instructions, the bars are the same. There is no LH / RH.

The same is true with respect to the stock lower control arms as well.

Good luck,

PS

I can probably scan these instructions (5 pages complete with greasy thumbprints) and email them to you if you send me your email address.

OOOOOPS - my bad. I just opened my eyes and saw that you were talking about uppers not lowers -sorry.

I don't expect, however, that they are different since, like the lowers, the stock upper bars are interchangeable.

PS

I don't have instructions for the uppers.

Are these adjustable?

JOHN WILDE-
no, these are not adjustable, i could try and post more pictures to show that they curve a little in different spots.

i was hoping someone knew if there was a left and right for the uppers

Are you sure those are the ones for stock replacement and not the ones in the 12 bolt swap kit. The only reason I ask is I have never seen a left and right difference on any brand of upper arm(even the adjustables) and I bought a different brand of swap kit, which was patterned after the SSM ones and there is a difference in those. Also your pictures looks a little like the stockers, but since you mention the bend maybe thats how they are indentified. Usually they stamp some sort of ID on them like a part number that ends with a R or L. Have you looked really close to see any?

if you dont want it there i can change it to some others that popped up :)

turbofish38-
the very first thing i looked for was L and R, im going to pull the rear out tomorrow and see if these are the same length-
good point on them not being for the correct setup, guess i will find out soon enough....
thanks for the input

No man, it's fine. I have it saved on my PC from when it was taken. That was taken on the spur of the moment one day. Never thought it'd be much more than a joke. It was on the national's rules page for a few years amazingly. I guess it's better than Midolo's P. Diddy poser pics in the golf carts at BG.

welp, the new rearend is in and almost finished-

there is a left and right to these upper bars, it was off 1 full inch when they were on the wrong side... i even flipped a coin to find out which side to put them on, but i got the wrong end of the coin the first time :banghead:

here is what the car looks like now, should get paint before next winter... its my beater.... and behind it is my service truck, 99 ford stroke f450 190,000 miles, and a nice rolling tool box/bench ect
