If anyone has any questions on mounting, installing or setting up a ProPain injection system feel free to ask me as I am usually not as busy as Jay or Dan who are the Gods and creators/distributors of the kits. No I am not affiliated with either of them, I just have alot of experience in setting up of my own (it didn't exactly go smoothly) in the TTA.

OK, I'm asking about all that you just mentioned above.
Where does the propane bottle go, what other problems did you encounter.
Do you have any pics of the install?
Any tuning problems, or issues to be addressed?
Did you have alky before, and what are the differences.
Does it stop knock as well as alky?

Where does the propane bottle go?
I mounted the tank in the spare tire well, it fits very nicely but the spare no longer fits.
what other problems did you encounter?
Once installed I found that the Green wire on the solenoid must be clipped and grounded to the chasis instead of being tied to the black wire that runs to the controller in order to get the "Injection Control" on the controller to work. The controller pulses the ground and the green wire was giving the solenoid a constant ground.
Do you have any pics of the install?
No, does someone have a digital camera I can borrow?
Any tuning problems, or issues to be addressed?
Tuning is somewhat simple, start with a small amount of propane and slowly increase your boost and amount of propane watching for knock.
A chip with a BLM lock is recommended since part throttle runs will screw with the fueling of the last BLM

No, I haven't tried Alky so I can't compare the two
Does it stop knock as well as alky?
Hard to say as I haven't tried both. I feel it is better suited than Alky for a car that has small injectors as it also acts as a seventh injector as well as an octane enhancer.

So what happens if the green wire is still connected and not grounded?

If you leave the green wire connected to the black wire, the injection control will be maxed out no matter what position it is in. The solenoid will run 100% duty cycle since it has a constant ground. This won't necesarily happen on all vehicles as it requires the tank, braided line, or solenoid to be grounded to the chasis so testing the kit on a bench won't result in any problems. I would guess that nearly every kit has the braided line touching a ground somewhere though.

Get ahold of GTAburnout, he has a digital camera and lives nearby :D I have asked him already but haven't seen him lately (he hasn't needed my Direct Scan yet)

I have two of the .46 jets installed and the propane injection turned all the way up along with the bottle pressure set at 100 psi. I start injecting at 12 lbs and still can hear and see (SM,DS) knock. I havent cut and grounded the green wire yet because you said it would run at full cycle if I didnt. My next question is when the orange light is activated is that a sure sign it is injecting or is that meerly boost activated? I am planning on wiring in a low pressure hobbs swich in line so I can verify I am getting pressure in the line.

You should be able to make sure its injecting very easily.
Hook up the system like normal, drive around and check your line pressure between the tank and the jets.
Close off the tank completely.
Go WOT.
The line pressure between tank and jets should now drop to 0.

Or simply disconnect the boost line and use a mitivac to activate the system. This is also handy for setting turnon point if you disconnect it from the engine and have both the controller and boost gauge pressurized.
Just a hunch on my part, but it seems that propane will cause a little knock if overly rich. I was getting some knock with O2's in the .830-.850 range, upped the boost and reduced propain DC and it went away. HTH

I thought that too because my O2's were in the 900's one wot. I turned it down and now in the low 800's. So I guess that should be a sign that it is working. I still have the alky mentality I guess and am still waiting for it to bog the engine.
I will turn the bottle off and give it enough gas to open the line just to verify until I get a mitivac.
Thanks for your help guys!
