I just put it in my car. Haven't driven it yet. I have just been sitting in my driveway trying to get to know the TPro. Seems like it has a TON of adjustments. Right now I am working on getting it to idle right. According to the INT and the WB O2, it's rich (INT at 150 and A/F around 13.3. I love it so far:rockwoot: I also got the boost control with it. Maybe I will get some track time tomarrow night:D

13.3 is not a rich AFR ratio. You might want to rethink that.

INT at 150 means the ECM is ADDING fuel, not taking it out.

I have been running it for a month or so now. On the base settings that the site has you put in I was running pig rich but the car was capable of low 13 second passes just with the way it sat.

I have since been doing a little with it. There really isnt any solid support I can find for our cars yet so its basically hit or miss. I pulled fuel and timing in the Tune-Low and Tune-Mid sections and the car is running leaner, no more black smoke stacks, and responds better. I really need a wideband o2 to really start tuning the car which I should be getting soon.

In any case, I am happy with the setup overall, the ability to change settings on the fly is great. No more, start the car, shut it off, pump the pedal, start it to see if everything is good, repeat. I just start it, pull fuel at different spots until I kill the car and then turn it back up a bit.

My complaints are, its bulky, no easy place to mount it so I ended up stashing it in my glove box and pulling it out when I need it. I wish it had the capacity to record at least one pass on it. Instead, you need to have a laptop if your going to do any data recording and if you get this thing why wouldnt you record your data?

Yep, it took a bit of messing around but I finally got it to hook up AND record.

I am using TunerProRT version 4.13. My laptop is newer so I use a gender changer to go from Serial on the unit to USB on my laptop. Clicking the "Auto-detect Attached Hardware" works to get it connect and then clicking Tools > Emulation > Start Emulating (I am not sure of that) will begin the emulation. If you have the 4400 file then dont even bother, it will list everything at zero and when you go to modify it on the laptop it will just set everything you touch to the max setting rendering the car dead. I am using another set up that once I get done being lazy I will actually post on the internet.

To get it to actually give you real time data you just need to make one change in the ALDL settings. Click Tools > Preferences then click the ALDL/Emulation tab. Under ALDL&Data-logging click the drop down menu next to Interface Type and choose Translator Pro from the bottom of the list. Click OK and then click Tools > ALDL/Data Logging > Connect and it should now be emulating if you turned that on and the ALDL should be connected allowing you to bring up your dashboards and get real time data.

I am still very new at this, basically tuning on my own so whatever I can do to help others get further than me will be great when I can then learn from them. :cool2:

I got to play with the prototype in a Mitsu, and then one of the earliest ones in Bob Bailey's own car. If it wasn't for having done all the ecm/code work that I have for my own stuff, I'd be running it. It's an impressive unit, IMO. I just wish I had worked more with it to be able to answer, guestions about it.

Have you tried looking here for help? http://www.fullthrottlenetwork.com/

There are other guys running your set-up that might be able to help you out. No need to reinvent the wheel ..... unless you want to. Check the FAQ's and post up questions if you can't find the answer. I'm pretty sure Bob checks in pretty often. He built it and can help you get the most out of the magic box. There's not a ton of traffic there, but if you're looking for MAFTPro answers, that's where I would start.

This unit is so new to us that even Full Throttle doesnt have much for us. It seems the import crowd is more in tune with the internet and sharing their stuff so you can find plenty of support for Supras and DSM's but it seems a desolate wasteland for Grand Nationals right now.

I have been working with mine quite a bit and actually just did a write up on how to get the MAFTPro and TunerProRT to talk to each other as well as how to set up TunerProRT to record data.

Mike just stuck my post on that site with the write up. If your interested you can find it on my clubs website here, Click Me (http://www.mgnta.com/Documents/MAFTProSetup/Setup/)

I also did a quick write up on where I put my MAFTPro. Its not 100% yet as I still need to get some wire wrap to make it look nice but you can find that here, Where I hide it (http://mgnta.com/Notes/MAFTPro/)

Whut,

That's a great write-up. My MAFTPro is still in the box. So is the WBO2 set-up. Hopefully I can get it in this winter. Too busy 'til then. I will definitely reference your write-up when the time comes to connect.

It will be there. I hope to add more to it over the winter as I do more work to the car and get the tune perfect. I seem to have a car that is addicted to 100+ octane fuel so getting a pump gas tune that works might be worth another write up.

I was having the same problems for a bit with the external gate. Your using a stock style wastegate right?

Post all the values you have set for TPS start, TPS spool, etc.

Verify that the 8 pin harness with the single purple wire SPLICES into the factory boost wire. (I didn't splice it, I just tapped into it. Therefore the solenoid was getting a signal from the PRO and the ECM and was confusing it.:loser: )

As far as plumbing it. The pressure feed from the turbo goes to the side with the filter. The other side splits to the wastegate.

I think now the problem might be the acuator. We have cut the rod to shortest length and now it is up to 18psi and no more left:omfg:

Are most running the pro chip or are you getting good results with other chips?
Thanks, Rob

I've been using the PRO chip as it is what allows you to utilize all the neat features like wideband tracking and correction, boost control, etc.

Spammers suck, especially moronic fools that think people into muscle cars (real American muscle) are into BS clothes that wreak of cologne before you even get them out of the store. Please, do us all a favor and hang yourself.
