Since this is a new board I thought I would post a link to how I rigged my PI light to my alky system for future reference.
I am sure there are other ways to do it, but this way only took me an hour and made me wish I had done it the same day I put my alky system in

Man, I hadn't even thought of doing that....how cool! Thanks alot! :applaus:

Ya.. wire it across the pump wires..that way you'll know your pump is getting power..

Did the same thing with my DIY setup. Did what Razor said and hooked the power wire to the pump. I also used a GM water level float setup and wired that to the water level lense in the dash at the same time.

Mark I like the Water Level idea, thats pretty trick. Nice setup

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing but I'm lazy, but maybe next year. It is a good idea!
if youve got a propane kit.. branch a light off the power wire running back to the solenoid and you'll not only have a secondary "propane injecting" light, but it will pulse at the same rate the solenoid is pulsing.. i used a few LED's.. not sure how worse the extra power drain would be with a normal 194 bulb..

Yep, did the same thing in my ttype.....nobody knows it has alky until the loud pedal goes to the floor. :)

my electrical connections are the same. However I connected to another hobbs switch in my alchy pressure side. This is wired to my injection light. This way I get the light when alchy pressure is sensed. This lets me know that the pump is working and alchy is actually flowing.

Well not really. It only tells.. you have pressure.. if your nozzle is clogged, it will lite the bulb as well.
A flow sensor would be the only way to assure alky is flowing.. Let me know when you find an inexpensive alcohol flow sensor capable of at least 1000cc per min.

If I remember right from when I was doing testing on mine, you use the ground from the solenoid but power from somewhere else to get it to work correctly, right? I had it working for a while but when I mounted the LED next to my boost gauge I never finished it by running the wires. Guess I need to get off of my :as: and finish it. BTW, I used a blue high intensity LED in a holder like the ones used on the ProPane controller, bright as hell if you aim it at your face, no problem seeing it in direct sunlight.

OK, some questions for ya Mark. Looked at your pictures...you got the level indictor in your overflow bottle, what are you using for coolant overflow??
If you're using the stock radiator overflow for alky, that's pretty stealhty, running like a hot rod alum overflow or something?
Also, I didnt see any pictures of your lights you rig'd up...got any?

I used the windshield washer reservoir for the coolant overflow. It works well as long as the little tube from the cap to the tank is still attached so it can siphon the coolant when the engine cools down

I bought from Radio Shack a 12V headlight buzzard (hooked it up to the pump). When the pump gets power the buzzard sounds…easier to hear something than see something while flying. :top:

So you must hear a constant buzzer going off everytime you put your foot into it??

How annoying is that??

Not bad at all. The wind rushing by helps. It’s installed behind my gauge panel.
