Loosing Power/Boost

When I Drive the car at partial throttle it is ok ,but when i drive at wot it looses boost and power ,my boost drops to about 10 pounds from 20, so I back off and I Have a Real Bad miss ,It clears up after One to two minutes and the its ok, as if nothing happened , I checked my ground under the ac bracket and two ground in the back of the driver side cylynder head, Fuel pump is two years old, inj are new,original ICM , original Ecm , no codes checked with snapon mtg 2500 ,I noticed that the OEM boost guage flickers with the miss,but thats because its hooked up to Map sensor,Mabey bad coil???? :

Did you get any knock on your gauge? you really need a scantool to record data and get realtime output instead of just using it to check for codes.

Is it getting enough fuel? What are the O2 readings?

If you feel brave, pull a plug while its missing and check the spark, see if its bright blue or orange. Thats how I diagnosed my bad module. Wear gloves or you will have a new hairdo

Your signature says this is a hotair car. What kind of gas are you running to be operating at 20# of boost without an intercooler??:idea:

The miss you hear could be the valves have floated, and a lifter is pumped up. After a few, it bleeds down, and that cyl begins to function again...

Keep that up and you'll be another member of the DOTC club!!! :bam: :bam:

yup,you're prolly getting a shitload of knock retard at wot.

turn the boost down to about 15# and see if it still happens.

you need a real scan tool...

I called limited Enginering , and lowered the boost to 15 . they sent this unit out set to 20 to 23 psi
As far as knock the first yellow at 16 psi of boost
the gas is 93 octane 9 gallons and 3 gallons Xylene mix
let you know how 0 2 readings are and fuel pressure Hopefully by Tuesday
will check coil and modual ,hope im not floating valves but my boost guage flucuates when the miss accurs ,so it may be mechanicle , and it clears up when lifter pumps up ,i will be hooking up a vacume guage ,let you know

Ok guys the engine that i got literally fell off the back of Bax Global truck and damaged the PS pump,destroyed the valve cover ,snaped VC bolt all on driver side of car, I checked everything and it seemed to be in order execpt for that wot miss and boost guage shaking .well I decided to take her apart and i found a slightly bent valve on the driver side with one Keeper missing and it hammered the lifter and ate the cam . Thank you Bax Global ,This was all documented right away with them

That poor engine. Keep us posted. Was the engine built by a premium TR guy, or was it one that was used and you bought it off eBay or something?

You may have a hard time getting them to pay $4000 for a Jack Cotton rebuild. Hope they take care of you

Bought from Mike McKoy and shiped by Bax Global , infact when it back fired it blew out the maf. Now All apart and getting the following new chain all metal,218/218 cam and centerlined ,ported heads,ported intake,precision t 54 turbo, 87 ecm conv,and much more i will keep you guys posted and there will be plenty of pics

Well, I was close tho!! Sorry the hear it was more than valve "float".. The valve floated open, just didn't ever close again...

Of course, the frt company just jumped at the chance to make it right too!!! About all you'll get from them is the :thefinger
