Tore down my engine

I tore one of my extra buick engines down today, And I found its been recently rebuilt with clevite parts. Im couldnt fidn any numbers on the pistons or rings, to show if its were bored or not, but it doesnt appear to be. im taking everything into school with me tommorrow, and cleaning it all up. Its going to need the new rocker arms, timing chian set, and an oil pan. When I pulled the timing cover off, I found that 15 teeth on the cam sproket were broken off, and the chian was really lose. Which is probably why the engine wouldnt run. The oil pickup screen had absolutely nuthing in it, which shows its probably hasnt been long scince the clevite parts were installed. The cam and crank both appear to be in exec. shape also, and there is no ridge in the cylinder walls either.

Put an ad out I am sure someone can get you a set of rockers and some shafts cheap. Does your engine have heads with the 8445 casting#?

Its a nonturbo btw.

Im going to see what new ones at the aprts store cost, tommorrow... same with a timing set. I knwo the oil pump is 55 bucks.. and the overhaul kit is $133

Took to have the engine degreased and cam bearings installed... cost me $83

Well, gaskets, rods/mains, and pistons are in... not to wait for the block to get back from the shop, with the cam bearings in.. and itll be put back together
