i have msd 50's,minor porting of heads,
kenne bell 1txb cam,hooker exhaust,2.5"downpipe soon to be 3".
kb recommends a 2800 stall for the cam,
so i would like to use that much of a stall,
what would be best/biggest ta series turbo i can use ??
i ask this 'cause i have a ta49 in the t-type right now,but the we4 needs a turbo so im thinking of going bigger on the t-type,and putting the ta49
into the we4.i want a ta turbo to pass visual around here.
hope that made sense.

I've always liked Limit's Ta61 w/.63 Garret Ex. housing. It works very well on the street or at the track.

I have the TA60 works great, but might want to go w/ a 3000 stall converter. I am running a 3200 stall. I also upgraded my cam.

How fast are you going or do you want to go? Mid 11's I say TA61 and 3000 -3200 stall. Low 11's get a 62 and 3200 stall. Ta60 is only little bigger than the 49

I wish I had gone up to the 61, but i really don't have the injector right now. Running 009's, which i should have gone bigger on them also, but that was done when i only had exhaust and downpipe on.
You really need to get some solid ET/horsepower goals for your combo and build around it. Whats the use in having a 600 horsepower turbo when you only want to make 400?
Buy the right one the first time and save yourself some headaches.

What tc are you going to end up getting? Get a 3 - 3200 and you'll fall within a wide range of turbos. I'd say the 61 as well with the right stall, if you dont' want to go that big, the 60 will do you fine.

Once again, you're just pulling numbers out of the air. Why not a Stealth TA turbo or a TA62E, etc?
When you chose your turbo, you need to have some sort of goal in mind. You need to have realistic ET/horsepower expectations and you need to build up your combination with a plan instead of just throwing a turbo on there because everyone else says "Buy this turbo!"

Right, there's many dif ways to go. Those were just a few of the choices that could be paired with 50s well. It all depends how fast ya wanna go and how much money you have! :arco:

My biggest issue is money right now. I am looking for high 11's, but once i get there I will need a roll cage. Just want a quick, reliable street car.

Well, a TA49 or TE44 will go high 11's, but at the same price level, you can also go with one of the PT5x turbos or TA/TE 6x range or a Cheetah or Stage III or whatever and not loose much streetability, especially with a mild converter. Those can go mid-low 11's no problem, the 50's should push enough fuel for those kinds of ETs.

I say TA61, it will get high 11's without even breathing hard and give you room to expand in the future
