Hello my buick friends. I do not have a buick, but I'm using this lovely buick technology on my Lexus! My 2 questions are these:

1. where can I find a compressor map for the stock TE-44 turbo? (60 trim with .63 A/R garrett exhaust housing)

2. Those two pointy parts of the flange used for attaching a heat shield are blocking my turbo blanket. Is there a nice way to cut these off or replace that flange with one that doesn't include these 2 prongs?

There is a map somewhere for this turbo.
As far as the bracket goes, you could cut it or get a 2nd bracket thats used on the other side and use it in lieu of the one you don't want. It needs to come off either way.

Do yo know the proper way to remove the bracket so I can cut it? I don't want to damage the turbo if I remove the bracket. Is there a unique method of doing this?

I wouldn't leave the turbo mounted on the car and try to remove that bracket. Once the turbo is off, loosen both brackets (just break the bolts loose on the side you don't take off), take the side with the flanges (I call them ears) off to cut it and reinstall them together. Make sure they touq down even or you can side load the center section.

If you think you can cut them on the car, that might work too.

If I cut those two ears off while the turbo is still on the car, do you think the vibrations or heat caused from my dremel's reinforced carbon fiber cutting wheel would damage the turbo at all? :nixweiss:

Take it off. It would be good to check up on things anyway.
Looks easy to me, but?? I can't really see under it.

So, nothing is holding up your turbo but the header?
