Besides the Meguiars/Mothers Clay bars out there, is there a source for larger pieces in bulk? Its pretty damn expensive for a piece of modeling clay. There's gotta be some places out there for a larger block of clay??
Zaino has clay bars. You get 2 of them in a plastic jar, in plastic.

I know that, the point of the post tho was to find another source :) A larger piece too..

Does Clay Magic still make them? That's what I used to use before Zaino came out with them.

i read on a board, maybe another buick board or somewhere else dont recall, but a guy tried various bars of modeling clay from a hobby store but didnt have much luck. maybe thats why these car clay bars are pricey; they're some kind of special compound maybe?

Joe, check out this link http://list.miata.net/pipermail/miata/2002-January/009655.html
Has anybody actually done any experimenting?
My everyday driver could use some clay but at these prices maybe a complete repaint would be cheaper.

Yea, Doug Hauser tried the model clay and had very different results. He said it fell apart and was too soft. The stuff they sell at the stores is not cheap, I did one car w/the one that came w/my ziano kit they say you can wash it in soap and water though.. I'll have to go to a local modeling store and see if there are dif brands.
On a dif note, Eric, chk your email.

jmidolo posted a link on Tb.com about a seller on eBay....The seller was selling "MotoStorm" bars. Made of some kind of synthetic "poly clay" ....I have one here in my hand (was $10.95 shipped) but have not used it yet.
This (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50450&item=2446196595) is the link to that eBay auction.

Has anybody tried the MotoStorm bar yet?

Try these guys:
http://www.mocproducts.com
They have local guys with trucks, like the Snap-On or MAC tools guy. Just click Contact MOC and call em and get the local guy's number.
Theirs is fairly expensive just like the rest - But because they sell in volume too, he may be able to give you volume discounts, or if you're lucky, refer you to their distributor.
Good luck.
p.s., good polishes too, I've found that everything I like most from 3M, Meguiars or Production, these guys have stuff that is just as good or better, and in whatever quantities you want.
