I ordered them for my GN way back when and no longer have the part number and didn't see it on GNTtype. Anyone got the # handy? Gonna put these in the Uppers and Lowers with my HRParts boxing kit...

I always thought the 1LE was for F-bodys? If that's what your looking for There is a site at www.1le.net that lists all the 1le part numbers for third and fourth gen F-body's HTH, Jason

Cool, I will check that out. Yea, the 1LEs are Fbody bushings, but they are they tried and true, old school upgraded bushings for the TRs...

Lower control arms on F-bodies are the same as G-bodies, bushings interchangable.

For those that haven't been to SLP's site. They offer new complete lower control arms with the 1LE busshings installed.

If you know anyone with a Camaro, the set of take off springs and shocks is a killer deal. We bought them and the 1LE bars for my son's 94 Z28. He has about 120K on it now. With a trip to the suspension shop it will be riding like a new one.

That's the same for upper and lower correct? I saw that# on 1le.com site and was not 100% sure.

So they are direct replacements for g-bodies? That's interesting, are any of the other suspension components interchangeable?

Yea, they are the same, just a bit stiffer. As far as other components..I've used the front hollow 36mm sway bar from an F body before. Dont remember, I think it may have been an Z28, I'm sure GTAs had them as well.

I believe the F bodys rear control arms don't have the holes drilled for the swaybars.

So, do those LCA's work good in our cars?? What do you mean by stiffer? Stiffer then the aftermarket ones designed for our cars? How much will they help my car. I am trying to get some suspension ideas for my car and using the money I get from my GTA wheels to buy the suspension stuff.
TIA, Nick

I wouldnt spend 100 on the whole control arm. They look the same as ours anyways. The bushings are not as harsh as you're going to get if you go to a poly bushing, but they are a factory upgrade so to speak as they are stiffer than the GN/T orig. bushings as those were just plain rubber no different than the other G bods GM had at the time. The rubber is just a bit harder on the 1LEs.

Joe -
I used the 1LE bushings (GM #10164152) all the way 'round whey I rebuilt my rear. Boxed the uppers and lowers with the HRPartsnStuff kit, painted them up real nice and installed the 1LE bushings. Bought Paul's remove/install tool and it worked real nice and easy, especially on the pumpkin ears. New Moog cargo springs, Bilsteins and a large diameter sway bar and now I have a really tight rear end (am I allowed to say that?).

Are there 6 or 8 on the rears? 8 right? Was not 100% on the tops, but there's 2 there per side if I remember correctly.
I got the boxing kits coming and also have the tool coming to do the install. Should have the stuff by this weekend along with my Bilsteins so I'll have something to do.

OK, wasnt' sure on the uppers. Hey, I think you got a parts book right? did ya see my other post about body mounts? check it out :)
I'm gonna dig up this old thread.
Joe, how did the bushings work out for ya? Any probs with install?
I was looking at going with the HRParts bushings or the 1LEs. I'm a little worried about polys with the noise and binding. Since I'm not looking for something too harsh, the 1LEs sound like a decent upgrade since I'm putting in boxed control arms.
Also, how much did you end up spending on the 1LE bushings?

Worked out great. I had them in my GN yrs ago too. I boxed the LCA w/the HR parts kit and bought the stuff to do the uppers just never got around to it.
I don't see the need for polys on an 11 sec car w/very limited driving and no winter/salt driving.
