What's your primary goal for the car, and it's useage?.
I ran a 50 with a stock converter for years, and was happy with it.
If you're into drag racing then yes you want more converter.
The ideal way to select a converter is trying to *beg* a ride in a car that has the converter you're thinking about.

I got a TE60 with a 2800 stalll, it spools fast. If you going to upgrade go with a 3000+ stall never know when you'll want a bigger turbo. Not sure whats the best converter out there is. Also I'm running 009s.

I just put in a Precision Vigilante 3000/3200 lightweight converter (lockup)and it's awesome. It's a high end converter and a little expensive but I've been told by many that it's worth the price (about $720). I have a stock turbo right now but will be upgrading to a TA 60 with 42.5 pound injectors.

I like the higher stalling converters. Insta-spin, and the ability to spool up bigger turbos. You could try a larger A/R turbine housing on your current turbo to get more out of it with a higher stall.

Usuallly they come with the .63 turbine, and a .60 compressor.
You could try out a .85 turbine.

I have a TE60 with a 3200 ARTCARR lockup converter it has instant spool but feels like its a little too big on the other end.
