Anyone using the Meziere pump with a thermostat? I know the Meriere unit blocks the bye pass in the front cover, I don't know how much this might load the pump motor down  Maybe I should call and see what they suggest, am going to need a thermostat here in the NE, car will be mostly street driven but the Meziere is the balls at the track.
Thanks

Probably not an issue. I have my bypass welded shut and drilled a small hole in the thermostat to move some warm water out of the block to open the T-stat until it is fully opened. Works very well, I have full thermostat action and it doesn't take long to warm up.

I use a mechanical pump, but the MZR pump would be the same.

I also have there waterpump and If I remember corectly , You must run a hole in the thermostat to bypass some water. I used a pressure ballanced thermostat with two small holes. I can't remember the size but I do remember Meziere recomending the size to me.

I used a very complicated algorithm to determine the exact requirements for energy enriched post cylinder case cooling fluid. After the calculations, I referenced my Sharp & Higley Advanced thermodynamics of a fluid body for confirmation. Then I sat in a padded high back leather chair with a snifter of aged cognac and a el Grandio #2 cigar and cogitated. (I looked very thoughtful.) In a swift move of bold arrogance, I stormed to the garage and used the only sharp drill bit in the index which happened to be the EXACT diameter of my confusing and complex calculations. EUREKA !! I exclaimed over and over as I bored a hole through the thermostat. Luckily, I had the forethought to gather the wife and kids so they could witness this landmark event.

It was a scene man, a real scene.

The mounting plate for the Mezier elecric WP blocks the by pass port in the front cover so you have the option of using another water sensor in the intake or just plug that port.
I have pictures of the Mezier pump with a Champion AC delete but with a PS pump in place if someone would like to post them here, am to old and stipid:frown:
Rather than shoot a .22 through the thermostat I decide to put a cylinder of .357 FMJ into the block, this would save me a lot of long tern grief and cash

I might be able to do that, if you email them to me.

I often think the same thing, but when I go to the local track and I can beat most of the cars there, with a street car, it reminds me of what these cars are all about.

No doubt the Mustangs are where it is at if you want to be a part of a racing circuit. NMRA has some impressive cars.

could the pump be used while still retaining the a/c and tensioner???
had this set up on a 69 bb buick and liked it
i like the idea of electric w/p and fans
horsepower savings and cooling with engine not running
but i dont want to buy the pump and see that that belt rubs on it as it goes past...
