dot next to post count

What is that small green or black dot next to post count

I think it has something to do with reputatuion, you can turn it on under options. Of course i have no idea what it actualy means, but it looks pretty :)

Says I have 10 reputation points whatever that means

Basically its sort of like a user rating system.. like Karma on Slashdot. Over the long run it lets each user build up reputation points which shows his/her information reliability.
