Many changes/upgrades.

An arcade has been added -- this contains games that some of you may be interested in playing.

Simply click on the Arcade link in the NavBar and you should be presented with a list of games available. Per user request.

You can now log onto the IRC Chat Server even if you are not familiar with IRC -- Simply click on the "Chat" menu item in the Navbar and you will automatically be dropped into the #BuickGN chat channel. (Requires Java) Per user request.

We have also set it up so that the Active Topics page loads from cache, so it only queries the database every 30 seconds instead of once per hit. This has the downside of delivering a list that is at most, 30 seconds old.

Added Location Field under postbit. It will be soon required to enter your location when registering. Per user request.

A major modification was coded from scratch. This is unique to this forum, and this forum alone (for now) -- Click on "ActiveTopics" in the navbar, and you will be presented with the 30 most recent threads.

Many new smilie images were added. Have fun. Per user request.

[ 12/18/2003 :: 10:56am :: ekool ]

The photo gallery options were modified. You can now upload 5 photos at once, as opposed to 1. Per user request.

The user reputation system has been enabled -- Once we get more posts, it will help determine what source of information you may wish to weigh higher then another. This can help prevent newbs from doing something stupid that they may not really want to do.

Date of Birth is now a required option when creating an account on the site. This will help with the SOT section when we moderate that group.

Can you go over that user reputation system again? The reputation system uses the following factors to determine a users reputation:

Registration Date
Posts
How other users "rate" you
How admins "rate" you
How many unique users have "rated" you

This all affects your "reputation" and it is represented via the icon next to your posts #

You can "rate" someone by clicking on the X/Checkbox in their postbits area, found under their avatar.

Can one person enter multiple ratings for another, or only one time, similar to how eBay works?

You can enter multiple ratings, but each rating has to come from a different "post" -- However, no one person can "stack" the ratings, as they must come from unique userids.
