LOL! Thanks! I am the President and Founder of the Turn 9 Sand and Gravel Club. I learned that one MUST lift going into that corner. Since it's inception, there have been countless new members, so much so that I can't keep up with them all.

There is something truly spiritual about going off track at 125 or so. :D

Racer X, you really a 2 time winner in the Silver State classic? When? I used to live in Ely, NV so I always checked out the cars....never saw a TR there, though. I'm thinking about entering in the second race next year. :eclipsee:

Yeah, I won both events in 2002 in the 125 class in my 1995 Corvette. I don't run my GN there for a few reasons. One, I just don't trust the trans (I have been thru 5 of em), I don't want to cut up the car and put in a cage, etc....

I ran the May event in 2003 in a Ford Lightning. I managed to get the truck up to 160 mph when detonation set in and ate the motor at 160. That had my bottom hole pretty tight to say the least:D That was my only DNF at that event.

I always stayed at the Best Western right next to the NAPA store. I love the town of Ely. The people were always friendly and treated us right and in return I always afforded them the same respect. :)

Currently I am getting another car together to take that road on again.

Tell the truth, Racer X-- you didn't stay at the Best Western, you stayed at the Stardust Ranch on the edge of town! :lickit: Yes, Ely is a wonderful little town (legal hookers and all), I lived there for about 3 years and would move back in an instant if there was any money to be made in that town. Damn, I miss being able to go down to the Hotel Nevada and get a drink at the bar at 4 am if I felt like it. :anbet: :beerglass

Just think about this 5 BLACK GRAND NATIONALS riding together down the street!!!! Folks just didn't know what to think!!! Guys included myself,Dennis,Ward,Lightning, and Chris ....How ya been??? Sounds like a blast, I haven't seen a moving GN in months :P

I've been busy with work lately, running around to trade shows and stuff.

The GN has been parked since I bought my daily driver, but I'm ready to get back in the mix. I got some beef to settle :essen:
