I'm working with a company on reproducing a common item on our cars That are always missing or destroyed.Remember way back when your grill had a piece of rubber that went from the back of it down to the lower radiator support? It would direct the air to the radiator to help cool it?

Hell no I have a front mount! OK I said it before some one else did.

For the stock location IC guys this would be an item I can reproduce to do it's job. There are also 2 side piece that are attatched to the radiator support & then ty-wrapped to the bumper shocks. There are about 16 black push pins that are needed also. I can get them included. The origainal ty-wraps seem to be a problem.Yes I'm working on that as well.
Yes you can go out & get a piece of rubber & cut your own to fit. I'm going to try & keep the price low enough that it wouldn't be worth your time to go out to the Depot get a piece of rubber & then try & cut it to make it look factory. If I can do all 3 pieces with the push pins for under $50 would you guys be interested? I'm going to have to pay to have 100 kits made.No it's not alot of $ but I don't want to sell 5 & say oh crap!
They will be hi quality & stamped out.The rubber thickness will be the same as the factory. If it's too heavy it will crack the back plate on your grill. Yes it is there for more reason then holding your grill springs in.
Ok guys give me some feed back. They will only be designed for Buicks. It's not like a t-top kit that I can sell to every Gbody car out there.

I thought that rubber piece was there to protect the radiator from getting stone damaged from underneath the front of the car. In this way the grill kept something from making a direct hit from the front and the rubber kept something from shooting up from underneath. By removing it, you would be at risk to getting the radiator clobbered.

It does also protect the radiator. There are 2 pieces on the side of the support that help direct the air flow also.
The original design was to catch falling sockets that way you have to beat on the rubber to get the sockets out. That action will then destroy the rubber & the grill. That way you would have to replace them both.

Ok so I have 3 people interested.

Not to jack your thread but do you think the metal ones that come on the Monte Carlo SS will work/fit. Maybe a permanent fix for those who don't care about being factory original. It might be a good template.

They would have to be modified. The lowers are made the same way the top plates are. They are actually a very cheap metal & we reproduced a top plate for them just because they rot out so bad. Check the pics out.Jason is from Sherman & Assosciates. You know your doing something right when a sales rep from a company buys a sheet metal part from your company.:arco:
He is the one that installed the top plate & provided pics.

Looks like our manufacturer will have about 10 done by Monday next week. We are stopping out to pick them up & check them against the originals we have.
After that a full production run will start.Only if every project was like this!

Yeah now that you mention it I think I remember that happening to my top plate before I could afford the insurance on the GN.

No factory regal had an 8".Is it a GN,t-type,Hub cap type wheel, Chrome 5 star rally? If you want you can e-mail me a pic. I should have something in stock for you.
