soooooo you think that a board full of Turbo Buick people will be able to give better advice with one thread section? Rather than a whole board designed for that specific engine?
My mom has an Izisu Rodeo can we have an Izusi section also???:applaus:

ledzeppac,
I love you and you are my friend.
As for the ls1 section, it would get no less traffic then some of these other forums that aren't exactly jumping. Plus if the LS1 section does generate a bit of traffic it could lead to some small time sponsors getting on board. But with pricks like you, its going to be hard to expand the board anymore then it already is.

How about we actually get some tech questions and have our tech area grow... Rather than a large off topic area and ls1 tech...

Truthfully, Travis and I have discussed putting some tech for other makes/models on this board. We've never drank enough beer over it to come to a final conclusion.

BTW...I bought a new Ford Five Hundred yesterday. How about a Ford Five Hundred section? We could talk about how to set the damn memory mirrors and seats and link them to the keyless remotes.

Artie!
Uhm, truth be known the GTO has sat in the driveway for the past 6 weeks now. Our builder was working on the house across the street and decided to back into it. He tore the mirror off, and dinged up the door a bit. Atleast he knocked on the door and told me, I never would have known. I got an estimate for it and am just waiting to take it to get fixed. I'm just completely bored with it and I see no point in modding it. On a Fri/Sat night to be honest I have a lot more fun looking to stomp rice in the Sonata because its so big/sedate looking. What about you, any more plans for yours?

Or we can bench race the rear hip room between the Sonata and Ford. What could be better then that?
I like those Five Hundreds a lot. The Ford dealership here wasn't the best experience, so we never even got close to a final price from them on one. The cars are real roomy though and they look sharp.

Oh, I'd be surprised if the Sonata is bigger in any dimension than this thing.
It's a deceptively big car.
At 6'3", I can sit in the back seat, and with the front seat adjusted for me, the seatback is 3-4" away from my knees.

Mine has been sitting and collecting dust for some time now, probably why it only has 5k miles on it in over a year. It wouldn't even have that many if my gf didn't follow me out to the BPG nats in Ohio in it. It's getting some upgrades as soon as I have the time to work on it, I'm going for 11s next:)

I don't feel like dumping money into this thing. Wih us having moved down to NC into this house, its just money better spent elsewhere. I used to live & day by the car thing, now I'd rather spend the money on a jaccuzi or other house type stuff. I'm an old fart I guess....

We love it. Completely. We are in High Point, right in the middle of 'The Triad' which consists of High Point, Winston Salem, and Greensboro. This area isn't quite as populated as where I grew up, Edison. I'd put it on par with the Toms River area (off season) in terms of traffic etc. Their is a lot to like here, especially the cost of living difference.
We had a new house built here, its almost 2500' feet, 4 bed, 2 1/2 bath, 2 car garage etc. With all appliances and options like a marble fireplace, garden tub, etc cost was $163,500. The houses have went up a bit since we signed in Jan '05, but its still quite cheap. Our property taxes are $1900 a year. Car insurance on the GTO, my Elantra, and our '06 Sonata is $1700. Thats with full coverage on all 3 cars. In NJ on just the Elantra and GTO we were paying $2600, then when we moved down here it was $1190. Now its up to $1700. The GTO is something like $800 a year to insure, the Elantra is about $350, and the Sonata is about $550.
I miss snow, it was weird getting our Christmas tree and bringing it home in 55 degree weather. But it does get cold at times just not as brutally cold as up there. I hit very little traffic on my way to work, no more Parkway gridlock. My commute into Greensboro is about equal to going from the Seaside bridge to Manchester on 37. Its about 10 miles, averaging about 40 miles an hour with a few lights here and there. No sweat....
I really am not disappointed in anything. The people are nice and their is a very decent car scene out here. My only beef with that is everyone races from a roll here, very little from-a-stop racing. I don't have a quick car right now, but if I did that would annoy me....

www.eastwoodhomes.com is our builder.
We are in the Avalon sub division, in High Point. You may need to look under Greensboro to find it. Our house is the Guilford.
I should be up there in Jersey this weekend. I can leave some brochures/housing stuff with Sean if you want. I'm always bringing stuff up there for my Mom, friends etc.
Nasty people is an understatement. Its so different here, cleaner, everything. To be honest I don't like to speak about it on websites like this cause I have found people that still live in Jersey get all butt-hurt about it. But their is just no reason to live in the most densely populated state in the country. The cost of living is astronomical with the recent housing boom. Steph and I could have never afforded a house like this in New Jersey.
Florida is nice but....you don't get much of a 4 seasons there. It is nice that it gets a bit cold here. The constant humidity is just too much in FL. We were there for our honeymoon on Oct '04. Its just so uncomfortable for so much of the year. Plus, the bugs.
NC has tons of new sub divisions everywhere. We looked at a few spots and settled in the Triad. You can find housing cheaper but you'll want to be close to major cities so you are near industry. We looked at Charlotte, but thats a BIG city and the traffic is horrible.
I have some pics of our house, I'll dig them up and host them if I can tonight....(at work now)

Please bring up to Snorman and post pictures of your pad when you can. I hear you about Florida and agree the heat in the summer would kill us. I love the South people are nicer in general. Raleigh is very nice. I don't think I have been to Greenville or Rocky Mount yet though.
Raleigh is a fairly exclusive and expensive area from what I understand. I would equate it to Morristown/Chester etc in northern NJ....
